Contractor Helps Make Alzheimer Care Center a Reality PRESS RELEASE
St. Lucie County, FL- TRM Construction Management, a local commercial and residential construction management firm and general contractor is committed to making the new Grace Lutheran/ Alzheimer Care Center a reality. When the group was notified by the city of new requirements increasing the cost by almost $160,000, TRM stepped in to help
Rick Miller, owner of TRM, heard the project was in jeopardy due to the unexpected increase in costs. He committed $65,000 dollars in reduced construction and contractor fees to help offset the increased cost of the project and make sure it continued. The commitment allowed the Alzheimer Care Center Project to move forward.
The Grace Lutheran/Alzheimer Care Center is a 6300 square foot multi-use facility being built in St. Lucie West. The space will be used as a place for worship and a Care Center, attending to the needs of those afflicted with Alzheimer’s in our community.
The initial planning for the facility began in September of 2018. The Alzheimer Care Center and Grace Lutheran Church formed a partnership, then approached TRM Construction Management to design, plan and build this facility.
TRM Construction Management saw this as an asset for the community and agreed to work with the partners. TRM Construction Management immediately began working with the team from Grace Lutheran Church on both the architectural and engineering designs.
After reviewing the plans, the City’s planning and zoning department required additional site work and upland mitigation. The new requirement slowed the progress, but after TRM stepped in everything is back on track.
“I saw the great service, a facility like this could provide to the community of worship, but more importantly its care for our members of the community afflicted with Alzheimer’s,” stated Miller about his commitment. “When my family had to deal with the loss of my father-in-law due to Alzheimer’s, it had a major impact on us. I have no doubt that a center like this will play an important role in helping our community and families cope with such trying circumstances.”
