New Date for Fishing for Futures

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County Annual Tournament

 

St. Lucie County, FL- The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County has set April 4 as the new date for their annual fishing tournament.  Fishing for Futures was delayed due to weather and then postponed due to Hurricane Dorian and Tropical Storm Humberto.  The event was originally scheduled for August 31, 2019. 

The Fishing for Futures tournament is unique in that it includes Club members, many who have never fished before.  Up to 50 Club members will spend the day on the Lady Chris Deep Sea Fishing.  Many other members and children from the community will participate in a variety of interactive activities at the Manatee Center.  Tours, face painting, K-9 demonstration, Bubbles the Clown, Touch-a-Fire truck, give-aways and more will be part of the planned activities.

Teams will compete in both 

The Law Office of Villafranco & Garcia is the title sponsor of the tournament for the second year in a row.  Other participating sponsors include:  host partners TRM Construction Management and DLF Media, Southern Eagle Distributing, Bonner Bar, Garber Buick, Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson, UBU Brands, Conchy Joe’s Seafood, Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, Summit Risk Advisors, Commuter Cars, Walmart, Dibartolomeo/McBee/Hartly and Barnes, PA, Manatee Center, St. Lucie County Sheriff and St. Lucie Fire District.  With the new dates, we are accepting fishing teams and sponsors who want to support the Boys & Girls Club and a great event.inshore and offshore fishing with $12,000 in cash prizes.  The captain’s party will be held Friday, April 3 where captains will be given the rules, a list of the day’s activities and a ‘goody’ bucket.
