The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County are hosting a new event, thanks to the support and hard work of Rick Miller and TRM Construction Management. Fishing for Futures, an inshore/offshore fishing tournament was created by Miller to benefit the Club.
“Almost everyone remembers catching their first fish,” stated Miller, owner of TRM Construction Management. “Many of the kids who attend the BGC have never been fishing. We created this event to change that. It’s a great experience we wanted to provide for the kids.”
Miller and his team have been covering the Treasure Coast to secure sponsorship’s, raffle items and recruit fishing teams for the event. “We have some outstanding sponsors. The Law Office of Villafranco & Garcia is out title sponsor. Southern Eagle Distributing, Bonner Mobile Bar, Conchy Joe’s Seafood, DOA Lures, UBU Brands, St. Lucie Battery & Tires and many others are committed to supporting the event and the kids,” added Miller.
The tournament features over $12,000 in prizes including $5,000 for the biggest fish. The event also celebrates Day for Kids with bounce houses, kids activities, vendors, food and more.
